This site: http://www.trivia-library.com/c/20-most-prolific-authors-and-writers-in-literary-history.htm gives a top 20 list attributed to "People's Almanac". However, I am taking it with a grain of salt - I had come up with Asimov, Simenon, or Enid Blyton as contenders through a bit of Google searching, but Asimov doesn't even make the list above despite being credited with 515 books (Wikipedia) which would put him at #9. Blyton claims 700-800 titles according to some sources, but this list only credits her with 600. Regardless, the question was just for #1 prolific author and that may indeed be Mary Faulkner, but I didn't verify that anywhere else. Guinness doesn't have that category anymore unfortunately, and the list does cite that as their source.

Subject: [PW] ?Author who has written the largest number of books

Hello Wombats,

A patron wishes to know which author has published the greatest number of books, i.e. individual titles either currently or through the ages. I did not find an answer in the archives. Any leads on where I can find this information?

Many thanks!
