One of the contenders is romance author Barbara Cartland. The following
information is from her obituary.

Romance novelist Dame Barbara Cartland, who holds the Guiness Book of
World Records title for Most Published Author

Cartland's career touched all areas of media: She had her own radio show
during the 1920s, wrote historical novels which received endorsement by
Sir Winston Churchill, published plays, biographies, and over 700
romance novels which were translated into 36 languages world-wide and
sold over 1 billion copies.

Subject: [PW] ?Author who has written the largest number of books

Hello Wombats,

A patron wishes to know which author has published the greatest number
of books, i.e. individual titles either currently or through the ages.
I did not find an answer in the archives. Any leads on where I can find
this information?

Many thanks!
