The closest thing I've found is a National Geographic documentary called
Braving Alaska. I only see it as a used VHS on Amazon, no DVD. It follows
four families who relocated to Alaska. The original book about these folks
was Coming Into the Country by John McPhee. A followup book updating the
documentary is The Final Frontiersman by James Campbell. Good descriptions
on all at Amazon, of course. :)
One of the main subjects was Heimo Korth, who went to Alaska with his wife
and two daughters (not sons). It appears they are hunter-trappers rather
than sheep ranchers, also.
