[PW] ? documentary film about father and sons in Alaska

Hello fellow Wombats,
I have a patron who is looking for a documentary film which she thinks 
was made from a book about a man who goes to Alaska with his two 
sons and a nanny or tutor to start a sheep ranch. In this film, they 
scavenge materials from a an old World War II military station. My 
patron thinks that It might have taken place on one of the Aleutian 
Islands perhaps Attu or Kiska which had military stations during WWII. 
She remembers seeing this film on television perhaps PBS and said it 
was similar in feel to another Alaskan documentary film, "Alone in the 
Wilderness" by Dick Proenneke which was also shown on PBS. 
Can anyone provide me with the film title or any additional information?
