I'm from Louisville, KY and I have seen the photo she is talking about. I 
was born in 1941, so either I saw it in a magazine that was contemporary to 
the time of the flood that one of my relatives may have saved or I saw it 
more recently, like 1957 when there was, I believe, an historical "replay" 
of the 1937 edition. I lived with my grandparents and they subscribed to 
LIFE in the 1950's.

I have never subscribed to National Geographic nor have any of my family 
that I know of.

I don't know of an index to LIFE.
