Not exactly the quote, but the idea was noted by the Chinese philosopher "Mencius (Chinese ÃÏ×Ó, transliterated Meng Zi, most accepted dates: 372¨C289 BCE; other possible dates: 385¨C303/302 BCE)" -Wikipedia
"In a world of moral order, the great characters rule the small characters, and the great minds rule the small minds. In a world of moral chaos, the great rule the small, and the strong rule the weak."

The quotation "the strong rule the weak, but the wise rule the strong" has been attributed to hip-hop artist, Lake. Our young patron would like to know if this quotation appeared any earlier or is a paraphrase of someone else's quotation. I have checked my quotation books here and the online sources at IPL and haven't found any evidence of a prior variation.
Thanks,
