[PW] how to find other descendants of an ancestor

I have received an email from someone overseas trying to locate family
members of his great-grandfather, who immigrated to the US early in the
last century.

The last information he has on this person is from the 1940 Census. My
best idea at present is to suggest the searcher create an account with
Familysearch.org, see if he can locate his great-grandfather in a family
tree, from there find his living descendants and then hire a private
investigator.

However, the name of the great-grandfather complicates searching. His name
was Jeremiah Donoghue and he was married to an Eileen/Nelly Sullivan. My
own searches in familysearch.org for a Jeremiah Donogue married to an
Eileen/Nelly Sullivan called up screen after screen of searches.

Not as bad as being named Kevin O'Kelly, but bad enough.

I've also thought about suggesting the searcher go to the lost relatives
section of Myheritage.com

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin
