Of course those of us who live in Australia are quite accustomed to arriving 
in Los Angeles before they've left Sydney.

This discussion reminds me of a 1970s-era book about the World War II
battle of Midway I read in elementary school.  Its back cover, as I
remember it, included the shrieking blurb that its subject was "the
only battle ever fought in which an airplane could take off yesterday,
bomb a target tomorrow, and return today!"
