In one sense I must agree, it IS embarrassing!  When I go out of a
local region here, everyone immediately asks if I voted for Bush.

I realize that is more local than the word alien was used before,
but I am equally embarrassed.

However, I disagree about what to hope for.

If there ARE aliens, and if we SHOULD be embarrased:

1.  Perhaps there is more hope for the universe than for Earth.

2.  Perhaps I can hitch a ride and get out of here. . . .
