A friend has asked me to try to track down a poem he believes is by Emily Dickinson, although I have my doubts. He cannot remember any exact quotes, but he said that the speaker is staring at the door of a house she used to live in and wondering if she should knock and concludes there are some things one is better off not knowing or seeing.
My friend insists that it is Dickinson, but it seems an odd subject for a woman who lived most of her life (although not all) in the same house, and if my knowledge is correct, didn't venture out much.
I realize this isn't much to go on, but if it strikes a chord somewhere in the minds of wombatdom, please let me know.
Kevin
