Hi. I'm the editor of the USENET rec.puzzles archive (
http://rec-puzzles.org) and the author of the book "Wordplay: A Curious
Dictionary of Language Oddities." I've traced the origin of the (in)famous
"-gry" puzzle, and what I have been able to uncover is summarized here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/-gry#History
I need some help with the following:
1. A reference prior to 1975 for a puzzle asking for three words that
CONTAIN "gry," as opposed to ENDING in "gry."
2. Copies of the Bob Grant radio show on WMCA in New York City for
March-April 1975.
3. The identity of a quiz show that was broadcast in New York in March
1975.
