[PW] ?: finding owners of VW Phaetons

Colleagues,
 
   I want to start an owner's club for the VW Phaeton  automobile.  What I 
need first, obviously, is a list of people who own that  car; my problem is how 
to form that list.  I can think of two sources, both  of which I will be 
trying: the manufacturer and the various DMVs.  But I  have very little leverage 
with either, and doubt that they will be forthcoming,  particularly the DMVs -- 
and even if they were cooperative, I would have to  get in touch with all 50 
of them.
 
   Can anyone give me any advice or pointers on other ways to  form the list 
I need?  If you like, write to me off-list; if I get any  useful answers, I'll 
consolidate them and post all the information received to  the list in one
