Our County Library System is going to do a fund drive for a Chinese
school that lost about one half of their students and teachers in the
earthquake. The school will be re-built by the government. We were
told that there is no free education in China, nor are there public
libraries. Does anyone know how much it costs per year (in dollars) to
send a child to school and if all the schools are boarding schools? We
were hoping to set up a lending library in the school for the poorer
kids who can't buy their own books, but then I thought maybe a
scholarship?
