I’m giving a talk tomorrow to a group of high school students and wanted to know the total number of words in all seven Harry Potter novels, and the total number of words in either all of Tolkien or at least Lord of the Rings. Does anyone either know or know of a source? Thanks. - Jeff

"I have sometimes imagined a library, i.e. a collection of the works of true poets, philosophers, naturalists, etc., deposited not in a brick and marble edifice in a crowded and dusty city. . . but rather far away in the depths of the primitive forest. . ."
