[PW] Total Number of Households

Ah, true. By region I mean Europe, AsiaPac, Middle East/Africa, etc.

The difficulty is where I have some average size of households per
country but the data is very spotty and not up to date. I was hoping
that there would be some CIA Factbook-type website that could give me
the data and let me know when it was last changed.

I've found a paper that offers an equation to calculate the household
numbers but that's way over my head.

Thank you,
Namiko

It would help to know what you mean by "region" of the world. But I
would think that if you have the household size for a country/region,
you would just divide that into the population to get the number. For
example: "In 1985, the average household size was 4.7 in hotspot
countries and 3.7 in non-hotspot countries."
(http://newsroom.msu.edu/site/indexer/1283/content.htm). The average
number of houseolds for each type of country would be whatever their
total populations are divided by 4.7 and 3.7.
