[PW] Looking for an Author

I am looking for an article and author.  I know the author only as H. Brown
and he wrote an article on the subject of marriage (and possibly male
responsibility or lack thereof).   This article sounds as though it dealt
with psychology and a philospophy of sorts on marriage.  The author,
according to a 1930's journal, was quite influential at the time.    The
article would have been published in or around 1930 and potentially have
been from a New York author (not sure about that).  These are some sketchy
details, but if anyone can help me find a couple of suspects, that would be
great.
