In Shakespeare's version of the Pyramus and Thisbe story (within A Misdummer Night's
Dream, Act V, Scene 1), the wall separating their houses has a very minor speaking part.
Snout plays Wall, explaining to the audience how his fingers are the chink in the wall
through which the lovers speak to each other. Demetrius, in the audience, says , " It is
the wittiest partition that I heard discourse." Wall, however, remains silent during the
Pyramus and Thisbe dialogue.

Very minor, but it just might be the original speaking house, and, given its fame, probably
worthy of mention.
