Subject: [PW] ? Truman-Related Information (Quotation Query #781)

The originator of the famous Trumanism "If a man can't stand the heat, he ought to stay out of the kitchen" appears to have been a Missouri judge named Eugene I. "Buck" Purcell. Can anyone provide me with Purcell's birth and death years? Can anyone tell me whether Purcell was primarily a judge, or whether he had some other occupation?
