A rather narrow focus, though perhaps a mildly surprising range of writers and editorial approaches...the cast goes from Boris Karloff to Henry Slesar (perhaps best-remembered now for his television scripting on ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS: and THE EDGE OF NIGHT, though an impressive writer of prose, as well) to Robert Silverberg and Harlan Ellison to Walter M. Miller, Jr. (he of A CANTICLE FOR LEIBOWITZ) and Brian Aldiss...and the book packager, Lyle Kenyon Engel, who got the Bicentennial Series written by John Jakes off the ground, and the editor, Cele Goldsmith Lalli, who made her mark in fantasy and science fiction before moving on to become the less egotistical Anna Wintour of the bridal magazine field...and two editors, Anthony Boucher and Hans Stefan Santesson, who straddled crime and fantastic fiction, and were the first to offer translations of Jorge Luis Borges in magazines devoted to those fields...
There really are So Many Connections when one looks at nearly any aspect of our literary history...
