This sounds to me like John D. Rockefeller (Senior).  A Google search on his name brought up the Rokefeller Archive Center.  Here's the url:  http://archive.rockefeller.edu/

The reason I thought it was JDR:  I seem to recall that towards the end of his life he could eat only baby food.  YMMV.
